Keyboard sizing options

There are three ways to specify keyboard size:

• Measurement tool (recommended)
  Use our measurement tool to determine your actual hand size. This allows us to adjust all internal proportions of the keyboard precisely to the player’s hands. This is the preferred and most accurate method.

• Fractions (e.g. 7/8, 15/16)
  Often used for public or shared instruments. Fractions define the overall scale of the keyboard and preserve a clear musical meaning—for example, on a 7/8 keyboard an octave plays as a seventh. However, fractions still do not describe the internal distribution of key widths within the octave.

• Octave width (mm or inches)
  This specifies the same overall width as a fraction, but without the musical reference. It does not define internal key proportions and is therefore less informative in a musical context.
