Tendens Pro Ampla is designed to maintain natural openness of tone in the largest concert halls.
 
Through its extended four-panel Active Soundboard, the instrument produces a wide, uncompressed sound field at scale — without relying on mechanical mass or increased playing resistance.
 
At over 4 meters in length (13' 9"), the four-panel Pro Ampla exceeds the physical scale of any classical concert grand. Its purpose is not increased force, but acoustic reach: to preserve clarity, spatial definition, and tonal stability in halls where traditional concert grands begin to compress, harden, or lose openness.
 
Internally, Pro Ampla follows the same fundamental principle as all Tendens instruments. Instead of scaling projection through mass, string length, and passive resonance, it extends the active soundboard system, allowing sound to expand freely while the playing mechanism remains light, direct, and stable.
 
The result is an instrument that retains the immediacy, precision, and control characteristic of Tendens, while producing a sound that remains open and unforced even at extreme distances.
 
A Ballistic Instrument — at Extended Acoustic Scale
Tendens Pro Ampla belongs to the same instrumental family as acoustic pianos.
Both are ballistic instruments.
In a piano, musical outcome is determined by the ballistic launch of the hammer. The instrument responds to the full acceleration profile of the key–hammer system — including timing, curvature, release, and energy transfer — before impact. This continuous physical process carries far more information than a single velocity value and is what allows pianists to shape tone, articulation, and phrasing with precision.
What we call velocity instruments operate on a different principle. They reduce the player’s gesture to an averaged keystroke velocity and trigger a predefined result. This is not a simplified piano, but a different species of instrument, based on abstraction rather than ballistic causality.
Tendens preserves the ballistic principle of the piano — and in Pro Ampla, this principle is maintained at maximum acoustic scale.
 
Openness Without Inertia
In traditional concert grands, greater projection is achieved by increasing size and mass, inevitably loading the action and reducing immediacy. Pro Ampla removes this trade-off.
 
By separating sound projection from mechanical inertia, Pro Ampla allows acoustic output to scale without altering the playing system. The keyboard and action remain fast, direct, and consistent, while the sound expands freely into large spaces.
 
Power no longer comes at the expense of control.
 
System Continuity at Maximum Scale
Pro Ampla shares its keyboard and action with other Tendens configurations, ensuring full system continuity. Technique, touch, and timing developed in daily work transfer directly to the largest concert format, without recalibration or adaptation.
In this sense, Pro Ampla is not a special-case instrument.
 
It is the natural extension of the Tendens platform into the most demanding acoustic environments.

Tendens Pro Ampla is primarily offered through Tendens Access — a professional access model designed to keep every Tendens instrument in reference condition throughout its life.
Under Tendens Access, the instrument remains Kaduk property and is continuously maintained, calibrated, and updated. Components are serviced or replaced as needed to ensure uninterrupted professional use. This model is intended for institutions, venues, and artists who require maximum reliability, uptime, and consistency, rather than long-term ownership.
 
Tendens Access includes both long-term reference access and short-term concert deployment. Availability is limited and arranged directly.
